We founded Ofanim in 2004 with one mission- to create equal educational opportunities for ALL children in Israel. Children in impoverished communities in the North and South of Israel do not have access to the same educational resources as their peers. We knew we had to create an innovative solution to create lasting change.
Ofanim's unique mobile labs, brings state-of-the-art STEM education to children that need it the most. We believe that exposure to the world of STEM, and hands-on learning is the best method to turn our vision into reality.
STEM is regarded worldwide as the most effective and innovative learning method for reducing scholastic and social gaps and for optimal preparation for the future employment world. Together, we are shaping the future of Israel. One child at a time.

?what do we do
Ofanim children, who live in the Southern and Northern peripheries of Israel, saw their lives change drastically. Many children were evacuated from their homes and schools were closed for months. Children impacted by the war continue to experience ongoing psychological trauma and are unable to handle a full day of learning within the school system due to the traumas they faced.
Recognizing that crisis widens educational gaps, Ofanim expanded its activities to include evacuated and displaced communities. Ofanim will be adding work with the evacuated communities, as part of its’ core STEM activities in the coming year.
Ofanim's innovative approach to social change brings state-of-the-art mobile STEM science labs to at risk children. For many children, Ofanim is their first exposure to hands-on 21st century science and technology enrichment activities.
Ofanim strives to help Ofanim children develop the necessary skills, abilities and self-esteem to realize their potential in an advanced and technological world. To that end, we have placed STEM education in the front and center of our organization’s activity – educating towards multidisciplinary excellence in Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Who we are?
Ofanim was founded in 2004 by businessman and entrepreneur Dr. Haim Dahan (awarded Midot Award for Effectiveness for social investors in 2014) with the mission to narrow educational disparities and promote equal opportunities for children in Israel's peripheral communities. Dr. Dahan collaborated with fellow entrepreneurs to conceive the original idea to transform a bus into a mobile learning laboratory. Ofanim's mobile labs reach remote villages and towns, exposing the children to new and fascinating worlds of content, creating an accessible learning environment.
20 years of activity dedicated to advancing and advocating for the periphery!
2004
Ofanim was established!
First activities were in the southern area.
2008
Our activity is expanding to the northern region.
2009
Launching the "Ofanim in the Academy" program in collaboration with the Technion.
2019
Ofanim in a joint venture with the Ministry of Education, as part of the Israeli National Program for the Promotion of Excellence in Science and Mathematics.
2022
"Expanding our programs offered to middle schools" 'Ofanim-Tech'. The first hackathon competition is underway.
2024
Ofanim celebrates twenty years of activity promoting opportunities for an equal future.
